Intro to Marketing for Healers

Person at computer learning marketing for healers

As a wellness practitioner, your focus is on healing and helping others. But to keep your practice flourishing, you need people to know about it. Don’t worry; we got you. Let’s take a look at five proven strategies to draw in new clients and foster lasting relationships with them — and how The Healing Society can help.

1. Show Up Online.

When was the last time you checked the phone book for recommendations? To get seen, you need a professional, user-friendly website that highlights your services, expertise, and client testimonials. We wrote all about how to do this, including our recommended software, in part 1 of our soulpreneurship blog series

Once your site is in place, pick your favorite social media platform - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter - and really focus on building a solid following, rather than diluting your efforts across a ton of platforms. Share the stuff your ideal clients are into, such as tips, success stories, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of your practice.

Why It Works:

A strong online presence builds credibility and makes it easier for new clients to discover you. Regular engagement on social media can foster community and keep your services top-of-mind when potential clients are ready to commit.

2. Find Your Content Niche.

Content marketing is a strategy that’s crucial to effectively promoting your services… even though it doesn’t promote your services. Lemme ‘splain. Instead of, say, making a bunch of Instagram reels full of testimonials or explanations of your offerings or pricing details, think about the kind of stuff your target audience is already into. What do they like? What do they want to know more about? Then make your reels about that stuff.

Why It Works:

You’re not directly pitching yourself in every post because no one wants to be pitched to in every post. Give the people what they want, and when they’re ready to book something, they’re going to come to you. This can include blog posts, videos, podcasts, or free guides. Content should be educational, inspiring, and showcase your expertise.

3. Make It a Deal.

Keeping loyal clients is a lot easier - and cheaper - than getting new ones. Your potential clients have tons of options, and even if yours is the best, it’s hard to break through the noise of all those possibilities.

To show off your faith in your service, design introductory offers, like a discounted first session or a bundle of services at a reduced rate. Make these offers accessible on your website and promote them through your email list and social media channels.

Why It Works:

Special offers lower the barrier to entry, giving folks an incentive to try your services without much risk. Once they experience the value you provide for themselves, they’re more likely to continue booking sessions.

4. Share Client Testimonials.

Wait: didn’t we just tell me not to post testimonials?! While you don’t want to depend solely on testimonials to get people interested in your practice, you really can’t get by without them. After all, what do you do first when you’re considering a business? You Google it.

Ask satisfied clients to leave Google reviews, and (with their permission) sprinkle some of your faves in throughout that meaningful content you created back in tip #2.

Why It Works:

Positive testimonials build trust and credibility, helping potential clients feel confident in choosing your services. Word-of-mouth recommendations are powerful, especially in the wellness industry.

5. Be Someone People Like.

Your personality and character can make or break your healing practice. No pressure, right? Build a community with your clients by showing genuine care and interest in their well-being. During sessions, remember things they told you last time. Ask about those things. Care about their responses. After a session, send a follow-up email or message to check in on progress and offer additional support.

Why It Works:

Especially as a healer, it’s crucial that you’re someone clients can trust, sometimes in their most vulnerable moments. Personalized follow-up demonstrates your commitment to their wellness journey, gives you a chance to address any concerns, and encourages clients to come back.
